Grant making trusts
Grant making Trusts are providing an excellent source of income for UKSA enabling a number of excellent projects to take place during the year.
Working in partnership with The Prince’s Trust as part of the ‘Get into Programme’, UKSA runs a residential programme designed to inspire confidence and self belief in young people exploring maritime employment opportunities. UKSA haspreviously won the Partnership Award from the Prince’s Trust to acknowledge the success of the ‘Get into Maritime’ Programme.
We work with a wide variety of grant making trusts. One example is The Harris Foundation which has enabled a number of inner city schools to visit UKSA on residential courses, the benefits of which have been numerous. Many of the children never having been away from home or had the opportunity to get out on the water and our inspirational training and personal development courses offer them new challenges. Team work, improved positive relationships, social interaction, self confidence and self esteem all vital ingredients for a positive role in society.
We welcome visits from Trustees and provide Impact Reports quantifying the difference made by a charitable Trust or Foundation.
