UKSA supports Hilary's dream
UKSA is delighted to support Hilary Lister’s dream of sailing around Britain by providing free berthing for her boat, accommodation and shore side facilities during her periods of training in Cowes, including a circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight, in the run up to the challenge in 2008.
Hilary is backed by her own specialist team managing her training schedule and overseeing the safety of the challenge. UKSA has helped her team wherever possible, including by providing Powerboat Level 2 training to some of Hilary’s volunteers. Due to Hilary’s condition, there are always elements of risk when she takes to the water on her own, but the decision to go sailing is always her choice, backed by her expert team with a wealth of sailing knowledge.
Hilary Lister is an inspiration to all disabled people and UKSA is proud to have her as an Ambassador.
