Dame Ellen MacArthur accepts cheque on behalf of Gipsy Moth IV

At 4pm on Saturday 22nd September, Dame Ellen MacArthur will accept a cheque on behalf of the Gipsy Moth IV project from Nauticalia Managing Director Chris Murdoch.

In celebration of the yacht’s restoration and second circumnavigation, Nauticalia has produced a scale model of Sir Francis Chichester’s Gipsy Moth IV. In a limited edition of only 500, each model is individually numbered and mounted on a section of the mahogany keel that was replaced during her restoration.

For every model sold, Nauticalia has pledged to make a donation to the Gipsy Moth IV Project to help fund her ongoing maintenance and charitable sailing trips for young people. On Saturday a cheque for £3,500, from advance sales of the model, which will be ready in October, will be presented to Dame Ellen MacArthur who is Patron of the Gipsy Moth IV Project.
