Funding opportunities
UKSA is a registered charity and a non-profit making organisation. It was set up with the specific aim of providing top quality seamanship training to all. For this reason, we are adamant that our courses be available to all prospective students and that everyone has an equal opportunity to apply.
We recognise that some of our students may need to find alternative means to fund their training, and this page outlines what options are available to you. We advise you to consider your funding options as early as possible, so that this does not restrict you when booking your course. It is important to note, that we are unfortunately not able to reserve a place on a course for you, unless we have received a deposit and a guarantee of your eligibility for a loan. We understand that the upfront investment you make in a course with UKSA is significant, but training with us will give you vocational qualifications that should enable you to find work in the industry immediately. Our lifelong careers service will ensure you have the best opportunities in the industry presented to you, during and after your course.
This page provides just an outline of the funding available to you, but we recommend you do your own research in case any of the information has changed. Whichever route you choose to fund your training, do stay in contact with us. We are keen to not let the cost of the training dissuade you from booking a course with us..
