This is an advanced course in navigation, Rules of the Road and meteorology for Yachtmaster Offshore and Coastal Skipper Certificates. Subject areas include pilotage and passage planning, tides and tidal streams, magnetic compass, electrical navigation aids, magnetic compass and navigation including position fixing.
Pre-requisite experience:
Candidates should have a basic understanding of navigation, navigational practice, tides, passage planning, meteorology, pilotage, and charts.

Training towards:
Officer of the Watch (Yachts less than 3000gt)
Examination and assessment:
The course is examined by written assessment
