This is an advanced course in navigation and meteorology for candidates for the Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate. It includes position fixing, DR and EP, Magnetic compass, tides, bouyage lights, pilotage, navigational aids, meteorology, and IRPCS.

Examination and assessment

The course is examined by written assessment.

Certification

RYA Yachtmaster Theory Course Completion Certificate.

Pre-entry requirements

Candidates should have a basic understanding of navigation, navigational practice, tides, IRPCS, passage planning, meteorology, pilotage and charts and publications.
