The Best Locations
UKSA operates in some of the finest locations worldwide offering the perfect mix of conditions for all watersports.
Venue Partners
Access to great training venues enables our students to accelerate their learning experience and consolidate the skills developed during the programme.
Mark Warner and Neilson operate high quality watersports resorts, custom built for a great time on the water. UKSA students can now take full advantage of some of the top overseas watersports venues operated by both companies, with instruction from UKSA’s experienced watersports instructor trainers. It’s a partnership that ensures you world class weather and training locations combined with world class UKSA instruction and mentoring, whatever time of year you choose to train.
Egypt - Dahab
Just north of Sharm el Sheikh, the Bedouin oasis of Dahab is situated in the midst of the spectacular Sinai Mountains, the desert and the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea. Literally translated “Dahab” is Arabic for “gold.” Once you have sailed here you will realise why wind/board sports fanatics prize the area so highly.
Accommodation
While staying in Dahab, students will be based in a local hotel. Twin rooms all include:
- Air conditioning
- Private bathroom
- Satellite TV
- Mini bar
- Telephones / WiFi
- Half board basis with a good variety of places to eat all within a short walking distance of the hotel
Afloat
Fantastic conditions for windsurfing all situated in a sheltered bay boasting a wide expanse of sandy beach. Dahab’s natural lagoon provides great windsurfing conditions for surfers of all abilities. The flat water protected by a sandbar and constant cross-shore and off-shore breezes make it easy for beginners to get started in the bay, while more advanced windsurfers will enjoy high speed sailing across the water further out.
Extra Curricular Sports
While staying within our overseas training bases, students are able to book extra curricular activities with the resort providers at an additional cost during their free time. Sports on offer include land yachting, diving, waterskiing and wakeboarding. These extra curricular activities normally attract an additional cost and are booked and paid for direct with the providers in resort.
Exploration Further Afield
Beyond the Sinai, day trips are possible to Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza and other famous archaeological sights.
A Diving Mecca
The area is a mecca for scuba divers with an outstanding selection of nearby dive sites for both beginner and experienced divers, and there’s plenty to explore above the water too. So for any student studying on a UKSA course based in the Red Sea area, the 1-week Dive Core Skills course is a must.
UK - Isle of Wight
Our 3.5 acre campus in Cowes is the largest purpose-built residential sailing academy in Northern Europe, with all the facilities you would expect at a world class venue. Our Island location provides ideal venues for dinghy sailing, kitesurfing, kayaking and windsurfing all within a short sail or drive from our Cowes base. With all your food and accommodation for the duration of any stay at Cowes covered in your course fees, the UKSA’s base will provide everything you need to focus on your studies and practical learning.
