Professional Instructor Development

Course overview:

Become part of our instructor team (albeit in training), while being coached and mentored by experienced senior instructors, enabling you to develop a mature and effective instructional style. Develop an excellence in instructional skills and personal competences across a range of disciplines, and upgrade your range of qualifications.



Pre-requisite experience
12 week Professional Instructor Training, 6 week Cowes based Fast Track Dinghy Sailing. Fast Track Windsurfing, or equivalent qualifications and experience.

Additional days of training are arranged on an individual and course basis with your course co-ordinator.

Syllabus

18 days of RYA / BCU training for upgraded qualifications, plus:

  • Boat repairs for GRP and polypropylene craft
  • Rope work, rigging and sail repairs
  • Painting and varnishing skills
  • Outboard engine maintenance and repair
  • The application of safety law, and systems of work

Qualifications

Students can select up to 18 days of training from the following list to achieve further qualifications, either to complete outstanding qualifications from their Professional Instructor Training or upgrade their existing qualifications.
