Motor Yacht Induction
Aim
Gain invaluable experience and sea time aboard a large sea going yacht in preparation
for training towards the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore (Power) exam.

Course overview
A 10 day voyage onboard MY Hatherleigh, a 104ft, motor yacht, building motor miles for your logbook, and experiencing a wide variety of roles, including engine room routines, watch keeping by day and night as part of the navigating team, and helming of a large vessel.
Benefits
Build the necessary miles to take the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster (Offshore) Power qualification when you complete the motor conversion training. Recommended for students taking the UKSA Yachting Cadetship (or Professional Yachtmaster Training with the additional Motor
Conversion module).
Syllabus
- Navigational routines and electronic navigational aids on a large vessel
- Watch keeping, people management, steering procedures and port entry requirements
- Basic engine systems and routines
- Emergency routines, muster stations, use of pumps and damage control
- Engine room watch keeping and shipboard routines
- On-board domestic routines
Qualifications
Each course is planned to cover between 900 and 1,700 tidal miles for your RYA Power Cruising logbook (actual mileage will be determined by the weather)

Motor Yacht induction is included in the Professional Yacht Engineer programme. Courses run as part of the PYE cover up to 900 tidal miles.
