MCA Elementary First Aid, six months at experience at sea and age over 21.

Course overview

A practical and theoretical course in medical first aid. Training above basic first aid, encouraging competence and confidence in the practical use of the skill and techniques taught.

It includes first aiders' responsibility, wounds and injuries, anatomy and physiology, fractures, asphyxia, burns and scalds, unconsciousness, heart attacks, shock, hypothermia, drowning, resuscitation and medical procedures.

The Elementary First Aid and Proficiency in Medical First Aid courses may be taken over three consecutive days.
