Course overview
An introduction to the use of radar in small boats as an aid to collision avoidance and navigation. Includes a mixture of theory and radar simulation, the course covers radar wave propagation, correct use of controls, target identification, radar reflectors, types of display, plotting and accuracy for position fixing.
At the end of the course we aim to give you a good understanding of the use of radar equipment, its use and limitations.
UKSA also offer a combined weekend Electronic Navigational Aids weekend which includes the one day RYA Radar programme.
