Course overview
Fire prevention on a small vessel requires knowledge, planned maintenance and simple routines. This theoretical and practical course, originally intended for professional seafarers, covers vital skills for the leisure sailor, including a comprehensive knowledge of fire fighting and prevention, and the ability to select and use appropriate equipment on your vessel.
The course includes time on a fire training ground, covering use of breathing apparatus, precautions to minimise the risk of fire, the causes and means of extinguishing fires and practical sessions extinguishing fires of a number of different natures.
