RYA Sea Survival

None required, although candidates should be able to swim 50 metres unaided.

Course overview

Primarily aimed at those making coastal and offshore passages in yachts and motorboats. The course includes knowledge of the types of and use of survival equipment, survival theory, preparation for survival and search and rescue. There is also a practical session in the pool putting into practice life raft deployment, entry, righting from capsize and other associated problems.
