WatersportsMCA Approved Engine Course (AEC)
A more advanced course for owners or crew of motor yachts and larger sailing yachts. The course is designed to give a thorough understanding of larger marine installations and to undertake full servicing, fault finding and diagnosis procedures.
The course has theoretical and practical elements covering the general principles of compression ignition engines, including construction, fuel systems, the role of air in combustion, cooling and lubrication systems, electrical installations, power transmission, hull fittings, pollution legislation, safe working practices and LPG installations. Fault finding and rectification are included in each section.
Pre-requisite experience:
RYA Diesel Engine Maintenance or equivalent
