Course overview

The UKSA Total Day Skipper programme gives a complete introductory training programme for anyone considering taking up boating in sailing or motor yachts. The programme includes structured tuition and learning to gain your RYA Day Skipper certification, together with essential skills knowledge of first aid, short range radio and engine maintenance, and builds your confidence and knowledge with a great mix of distance learning material and practical hands on tuition at the Academy.

With a variety of flexible start dates, you can pick and mix the dates to suit your lifestyle, fitting in the individual components of the programme.

Syllabus

• RYA 5 day Competent Crew practical seamanship training onboard a UKSA Sail training yacht
• 20 hour RYA Dayskipper Theory distance learning programme (requires PC or Mac)
• 2 days classroom based RYA Day Skipper navigation tuition at UKSA
• 5 days onboard practical tuition for RYA Day Skipper
• 1 day RYA Diesel Engine Maintenance course
• 1 day RYA Basic First Aid training
• 1 day Short Range Radio training program
