Training Camps
WHO ARE THEY FOR?

The GBR Yacht Racing Academy has been set up with the intention of helping young people with a passion for sail racing further their passion for the sport. The scheme is fully funded so you don't need to pay a penny to take part - even your clothing is provided.

The Academy runs a number of selection camps designed to identify sailors with the best potential and mental aptitude for competing in international yacht racing events. Each year around 100 young hopefuls will be invited to take part in these selection camps. Candidates should be aged between 18-25 and with a good level of fitness. Ideally they should have a good level of club sailing, on yachts or dinghies, although this is not essential. Most importantly of all, candidates need to have the drive and determination to succeed.

Each year the GBR Yacht Racing Academy will select the very best candidates to take part in competitive racing, providing them with financial support to facilitate their continued training development on the international yacht racing stage.
