Keelboating
With a fleet of 8 keelboats, UKSA are able to offer sailing activities all year round in this non-immersion sport. Keelboats are an ideal craft for young people, making the introduction of the concepts of teamwork easy and enjoyable. Youngsters are destined to enjoy this exciting type of sailing with a specific ‘keelboat instructor’ onboard to teach, coach and inspire young sailors.
Keelboating is yachting on an accessible scale – keelboats bridge the gap between dinghies and yachts. They have the stability of a yacht, so wetsuits aren't required, but workloads are sufficiently small to enable the boats to be handled by people as young as 8 years old.

Colgates 26’s
UKSA imported a fleet of Colgate 26ft keelboats directly from the US for their unique ability to make sailing easy without sacrificing performance, stability, space or comfort. With their large open deck, they are an ideal platform for groups to explore the Solent.
J80’s
In 2008, UKSA acquired three J80’s (26ft). These fantastic boats take all the best aspects of the Colgate 26’s with a little bit more excitement for the more experienced sailor. We can use training sails or race sails depending on group experience and ability. The J80 is also known for its large asymmetrical spinnaker
Yachting and keel boating are the pinnacle and defining activities for our students when visiting UKSA.
