Information for Health and Safety Requirements

Safety of all students is the No1. priority. We are well aware of the checks that schools and groups need to make prior to visiting. This information should provide the evidence required to allow your trip to run.

First and foremost is our yearly inspection from the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA). Any activity provider offering adventurous activities to young people must have a licence to operate in the UK since 1996.

Our AALA license

"A Licence indicates that the provider has been inspected by the Authority, with particular attention being paid to their safety management systems, and been able to demonstrate compliance with nationally accepted standards of good practice in the delivery of adventure activities to young people."

Head of Inspection Adventure Activities Licensing Authority

Section 4

Insurance

The Academy carries comprehensive 3rd party and public liability insurance, which provides the basic cover, required for outdoor watersports activities.

In the case of school groups, your Local Education Authority may have a scheme that you can subscribe to. In the event of an individual or group cancellation, the UKSA will refund as detailed in section 4 of the booking conditions.

The Academy strongly advises groups to take additional travel and cancellation insurance in respect of this.
