A Typical Day at the Academy

08.00 BREAKFAST Starts at approx.

09:15 MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR, BRIEFING PLAN FOR THE DAY

10:00 approx MORNING ACTIVITIES

12:30 PACKED LUNCH (During your Activity)

13:30 AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

16:45 FINISH ACTIVITIES DE-BRIEF

17:00 CLEAN STOW EQUIPMENT

17:20 SHOWER CHANGE

18:00 approx. DINNER

19:00 EVENING LECTURE

19:45 EVENING ENTERTAINMENTS

21:00 - 23:00 INTO BED LIGHTS OUT




Items to bring with you

  • Towels x 2 plus toiletries.
  • Sailing clothes at least two changes of clothes.
  • Wetsuits will be provided, but you should bring layerable warm clothing. (Remember jeans are very uncomfortable when wet.) These clothes will get wet.
  • Woolen hat and gloves or a sun hat for protection.
  • Sun cream, sun block and sun glasses (With a strap if possible.)
  • Deck shoes / plimsolls / old pair of trainers (these will get wet) - soft soled, no heels. Bare feet are not permitted.
  • Casual clothes for evenings.
  • RYA / BCU Logbooks if you have any. (These can be purchased from our shop)
  • A plastic bag for taking your wet clothes home from the last day.
  • Pen and notebook.
  • You may if you have your own bring your own Oilskins and/or wetsuit.
  • Two swimming costumes. (One for the swimming pool and one for outdoor water activities).

Please note that space in the accommodation areas are limited and we therefore advise that you keep your luggage to a minimum.

All visitors will be welcomed on arrival and given a safety brief and tour of the Academy.
