Kayaking

UKSA can offer a wide range of kayaking and canoeing experiences as well as nationally recognised qualifications.

We introduce thousands of young people to kayaking every year, providing the ideal platform for teaching young people how to work with others whilst giving them a sense of independence and freedom. The shallow draft of a kayak allows groups to explore and discover the foreshore environment.

Sit on tops

This new style of Kayak has transformed how young people are introduced to kayaking. Their directional stability and multi-person abilities make them ideal for entry-level sessions. Games galore, as our instructors develop the group’s paddle skills on adventurous and fun journeys.

Canoes

Often referred to as Canadian Canoes, these craft can be used in a multitude of ways. We can strap them together to make a very stable platform to use when the water is cold or for the less able.

Playboats

This smaller modern style of kayak, offer a more challenging experience and are ideally suited for the more experienced paddler. They are often used in fun try-out sessions to give youngsters a chance to see what can be achieved with a little practice. More experienced kayakers can use these craft to go surfing on the west coast of the Island.

Sea Kayaks
